Our friends at ThomasNet just published a great piece in the Supply Chain section of their regular Insights blog: “What Is a Logistics Company and Should Your Business Hire One?” offers a respectable general guideline for whether or not to outsource material handling to the logistics world.
Their six key considerations:
-
-
Expertise
-
Price
-
Efficiency
-
Reliability
-
Sustainability
-
Health and Safety
-
Let’s see how that aligns with Team NATCO’s approach. We recommend you ask these three questions before selecting a carrier:
-
-
Compliance. Does the company know about federal and state regulations and permits for oversize freight?
-
Knowledge. Does the company know about all types of flatbed trailers that handle different types of shipments?
-
Experience. Does the company handle only on e type of flatbed shipment, or does it have a history with different types?
-
While NATCO readily handles⏤and welcomes the challenge of⏤all types of movements of freight, our specialty has long been oversize and heavy-haul transport. That’s why we emphasize those federal and state regulations and permits.
That said, we’re pleased to confidently place a checkmark on ThomasNet’s list. What’s missing from both of our lists is “trust.” That’s a quality gained only by experience: interaction with us, clear communication, results, and following up. Saying “trust us” never did a company any good for establishing or maintaining trust.
We encourage you to read our customer testimonials. Just one example, from the manufacturing industry:
“The service and attention I receive working with the NATCO team is excellent. I’m recently new to the shipper world and there are still a lot of things to learn. NATCO has been more than patient with me, and there isn’t any request that is out of the question and usually can be accommodated within a very reasonable timeframe. Their team has always been very responsive and is extremely easy to work with. They always go above and beyond to help our company and, more importantly, our customers. I enjoy our partnership.”
We’re proud of that, and completely without bragging. We do believe that being responsive and going above and beyond are essential components in conducting business. Everybody wins.
